Caption: "Do you remember?--Painting presented as one of the bright spots of summer-long Coney Island exhibit at Museum of the City of New York ... shows Steeplechase Park at the turn of the century. Done by an artist named McKay, whose given name is thought to have been Leo, the picture was begun in 1898 amd reworked in 1906. It is a gift to the Museum by Mrs. George C. Tilyou, widow of the amusement park's founder."
