Caption on verso of 0927: "Doing Nicely: Johnny Podres, Dodger southpaw pitcher, was reported doing well today after emergency appendectomy last night at Long Island College Hospital, [where] he was rushed shortly before game with Cincinnati. Mary Jo Gallagher, assistant head nurse, of 1468 New York Ave., appears capable of making Johnny's stay at hospital a pleasant one. Podres will be out of lineup for about a month."
