Title: Horticulture with hormones
Description:

Caption: "Horticulture with hormones--Peter Tully, foreman gardener of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, sprays famous Japanese cherry trees with hormones, under the direction of assistant horticulturist London Winchester. The novel treatment, conducted for first time in this area, is designed to inhibit the maturation of the blossoms, thus keeping the trees in bloom for an extra week or 10 days. The spray, App-l-Set, has been used in the past to improve apple crops."
