Eleven women, some crossing their fingers or clapping their hands or showing signs of anxiety, gathered around a radio in living room. Caption on verso: "One for Each of Them: Ten Dodgers' wives and a bride-to-be huddle around radio rooting their men home to the National League pennant. With 11 games to go, girls feel that each rates one victory. Occasion was shower in honor of Anne Mulvey, who will wed Ralph Branca on Oct. 20. It was held in home of Mrs. Harold Parrott at Belle Harbor last night. Thirty-six persons were present and all voted party immense success when radio blared news of Brooklyn's 3-0 victory over St. Louis. The more than slightly interested listeners are, seated, left to right, Miss Mulvey, Mrs. Harold Reese, Mrs. Gil Hodges, Mrs. Clyde King, Mrs. Jackie Robinson. Standing, left to right, Mrs. Wayne Terwilliger, Mrs. Al Walker, Mrs. Harry Lavagetto, Mrs. Ervin Palica and Mrs. Edwin Snider. Kneeling in front is Mrs. Carl Erskine, whose husband was scheduled to pitch against Cardinals this afternoon."
