Caption: "One of the most famous schools in all the city is old P. S. 16, [157] Wilson St., [a large, three-story, brownstone building] between Lee and Bedford Aves., just over the Williamsburg border in Brooklyn. Known as the old Eastern District school. Built 1858 and added to in 1887, 1918 and 1924;" attached buildings on both sides, six women pedestrians on sidewalk, and parked automobile in far left foreground.
