Why am I seeing a watermark?

Caption: "P. S. 20, [a three-story, brick building with sign above doorway and iron fence along front] at Union Ave. and Keap St., was built in 1848, added to in 1869. It looks very much like this today;" Adjacent buildings on both sides and parked automobile in far left foreground. Note: In 1951, the school moved to 225 Adelphi Street in Fort Greene.
