Charles Blieffert is pictured with his mother, Helene, around 1900. This photograph was taken at an unknown portrait studio in the Coney Island amusement area of Brooklyn. Blieffert had a close relationship with his mother and did not marry until his mother died in 1940. The collection comprises one photograph album dating from 1908 to 1917 that includes 249 black and white photographs of young friends of Charles Blieffert in the Coney Island, Sheepshead Bay, and Brighton Beach neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The collection also includes four tintypes of Charles with his family at various locations in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn.
